SHOW DETAILS HERE

Looking for info on the show? You've come to the right place. Read on for instructions. For news and notes on the show and the band keep scrolling to the next post. Let's get the technicalities out of the way...

Due to the fact that the venue for HR30 is on private property. We want to invite as many people as possible but we have to consider the land owners in the process.

The show is free and there will be no tickets or anyone to check admission, IDs etc. Since alcohol will also be on the premises we are being extra cautious in order to make sure the show doesn't turn into a gathering place for underage drinkers.

In light of all the safety and legal considerations we are asking that anyone interested in attending the show email us at HOTROX30@gmail.com for all the details.

Or just leave a comment on the blog with your email address.

We'll be happy to send you a map and directions to the show and answer every question you might have. We wish we could make it a little easier but it's just not possible.

We know it's a little bit of extra work but look at it this way...it's kinda like getting a private invitation to a secret party at an undisclosed location. You'll be the envy of your neighborhood. Seriously though, we apologize for the extra work but in the end it makes it easier for all of us to have a good time without any worries.

Thanks for your patience, your interest, and the extra effort.

Notes of interest...

8/9/07: Scott Seitz strikes again. Here is the link to the review of Chris' new CD.

8/5/07: Yesterday was the last rehearsal before the show. We played the whole set top to bottom and everyone was very pleased with the results. There may be a few last minute adjustments during sound check but for the most part what we did yesterday will be what we do this Saturday in Monroeville. We're ready.

8/2/07: Major thanks again to Scott Seitz of the Norwalk Reflector for giving us another nice write-up. I'll add a link as soon as it's up on The Reflector's website. Yes Scott I will be sending those directions to you. If you make the show maybe we can discuss the difference between "secret" and private ;) It's hardly a secret if everyone knows about it. Seriously though, thanks again for all the print you've given us.

7/31/07: A few words from Chris...

hey,

This is Chris. i think HOTROX is a band that won't end. it was a literal life-saver for all of us when we were in high school. we learned that music is medicine. while it may have appeared chaotic and
wild from the outside, the fact of the matter is that the band was hard, focused work, cooperation, patience, and creativity.

As Greg and I worked to re-learn the dual guitar solo in Rock, rock, rock, we were struck by how complex and fun it was to play, something we had forgotten. we also got some satisfaction with realizing that we were 17 years old when we wrote that solo together.

at the last practice, as the sun set, a golden light filled the room. we were playing the new song, Alive and Well. Green commented on how beautiful the scene was. soon after, a lightning bug was flashing through the darkened space and landed on Greg's arm as he played. Randy had been so moved by his solo that he mentioned that he thought that was the best he had ever heard it.

this is a long missive to say that over all the years, we have all continued to grow and that in its current form, HOTROX is as good as it has ever been.

chris

This is another HOTROX reunion of sorts. It's Chris appearing on the TV show "28:30" which is produced by Greg.

A big thanks goes out to Scott Seitz and The Norwalk Reflector for giving us some press.

We had our first full rehearsal of the HR 30 show last weekend. It went really well and really long. The show is shaping up to be about 3 hours. We're adding a lot of new songs and we're dusting off some songs we haven't played since 1978.
It's going to be a good one. We hope to see you there.
